In an effort to make it more fun we have started a I-naturalist project called Haldimand County Migratory Bird Observations. We hope to collect as many records as possible of migratory birds spotted in the county.

I-naturalist can be used as an app on your phone or you can access it on a computer. You can join by downloading the I-naturalist app, creating login and search for the project called: Haldimand County Migratory Bird Observations

The collected data will serve to assist with directing conservation efforts.

The I-naturalist Project runs from March 24th to May 10th after which we will analyze the collected data and will post the results. We will hold draw for with the names of all participants and will give away the opportunity to assist with releasing a bird of your choice to the winner.

It doesn’t matter if you are new to birding or advanced, if you are young, old or in between. Let’s all get out there with binoculars and camera’s in hand and join this covid-friendly fun event and enjoy the amazing natural beauty and migratory birds Haldimand County has to offer.
